As you all must be quite aware, our favorite show “Ugly Betty” has been on a break of six-weeks after the March 19 episode. The show will be back with the remaining episodes of the season on 7th May, 2009 at the same time slot. So, friends! ‘Betty Suarez‘ is on leave nowadays and I am sure that like me, you all would also be missing her. So today let us find something more about the character of Ugly Betty and the actress who portrays her character.
America Ferrera, who plays the lead role of ‘Betty Suarez‘, is a 24 years old actress whose smile has been insured by ‘Aquafresh’ for $10 million through Lloyd’s of London for their ‘Smile for Success’ campaign. The campaign focuses mainly on providing dental care for women. America has kept herself busy in various political activities as well. Last year she participated in various campaigns to support the senator Hillary Clinton in the presidential elections. Though having a tendency to be in news for various reasons, she will always remain in our minds as ‘Betty Suarez‘ of Ugly Betty.
‘Betty Suarez‘ is the representation of the girl next door, she is not glamorous but her work speaks for her. She looks pretty because of her million dollar smile. She is much efficient and able than most of her colleagues and that is the reason that most of her co-workers show resentment towards her. She never intends to makes anyone feel insecure; but, she her intelligence and efficiency bring that feeling in others around her. With the progress of the series, she has managed to win the respect of her boss ‘Daniel Meade‘ who otherwise is a womanizer and is not at all attracted by her. Together they made a great team in the world of fashion magazine.
The story is interesting and is very different from all the other dramas being aired nowadays. I will eagerly wait for its return and till then I am going to watch the previous episodes of my favorite show Ugly Betty, here on this site and I would suggest that all you wonderful fans of the show do the same thing.
