When ‘Ugly Betty’ would return with new episodes this January, we will be introduced to a new character. And, the one who’ll portray this role is Lauren Velez, aka Lt. Maria Laguerta on Showtime drama ‘Dexter’. As per the latest statements given by the series representatives, Lauren Velez would portray Elena, a nurse that would enter the lives of the Suarez family and much to our surprise; she will also be involved in a deadly plot involving the death of one of the major characters of the series. She’ll have a multi episode arc. It’d be sizzling to watch Dexter fame Lauren Velez as a nurse on ‘Ugly Betty’ and I am surely waiting to see how brilliantly she performs on the show while keeping her previous performances (OZ, New York Undercover, Law & Order and Numb3rs), in mind.
What I am trying to find out now is what would lead her to meet to Betty and rest of her family and how she’ll be introduced in a well going story. Another point which strikes my mind is whom she’ll be nursing to. And, the most important issue is which characters would be written in the upcoming episodes of the show.
News is also here that Daniel Eric Gold would appear as Matt, Betty’s new love interest. His characteristics would match the features of Betty’s former love, Henry. He’s supposed to be smart, socially awkward, and cute and would be holding a secret whose revelation would surely affect Betty’s life.
Next episode of ‘Ugly Betty’ would be premiered on January 8, 2009 and is entitled ‘Dress for Success’. In this episode, we’ll see that Betty would find it hard to impress her idol, an editor at YETI named Jodie Papadakis. She’d also have a devastating confrontation with an assistant at ELLE magazine.
