Ugly Betty, a comedy drama throws light on the life of Betty Suarez, an intelligent, sweet, hard working and talented young girl. Betty is very ambitious girl and her only dream is to shine in the publishing business. Betty Suarez goes into the world of high fashion where figure is everything and wafer -thin beauties are successful. The only problem with Betty is that she is not thin and is not a good looking young woman. But the destiny favors her at every step.
Betty is hired by publisher Bradford Meade as assistant to his son Daniel, the new editor of the high-fashion “Mode” magazine. The reason he comes up with is that Betty is the only girl whom Daniel (His son) would never sleep with. With her hard work and determination, Betty earns Daniel’s heart as she helps him get out of many difficult situations.
Betty has a strong support system which includes her father Ignacio, her sister, Hilda, her fellow employee and friend Christina. The series is actually based on Colombian telenovela “Yo Soy Betty La Fea (I am ugly Betty)” and has been already made into successful TV serials in Russia, Mexico, Germany and India
